Lounge chairs

A new version of the iconic Elephant lounge chair created by the interior designer Jean-Michel Frank created for the Llao Llao Hotel in Bariloche, in the thirties. By using materials and craft techniques from northern Argentina, the piece is a counterpoint to the original design. The structure of this lounge chair is made of dark cedar wood ,native to northern Argentina, and scraps of cardon wood salvaged from dried cactus in Jujuy. It is assembled using semi-industrial carpentry techniques; the final details and waxing are performed by hand in Buenos Aires. The upholstery is made on a Criollo loom; its framework is tied with handsewn sheep wool and dyed with natural dyes from carob and sugar beet in Catamarca.
