This piece is inspired in the Kavanagh building in Buenos Aires, the tallest skyscraper in South America when it was built in 1936. Designed by the Sánchez, Lagos, & De La Torre architecture firm, the Kavanagh became an emblematic example of rationalist and art déco architecture (Declared a Modern Architecture World Heritage Site by the UNESCO) The bookcase reproduces the tiered structure of the building with a system of modular racks.
The production process is semi-industrial; made from Brazilian ipé wood, the detail work and final waxing are performed in Santa Fé. Processed using CNC technology, the black boreal granite for the shelves is from Córdoba. The mechanical work is performed in Buenos Aires.
